Nina

Counseling Intern

Hi! My name is Nina, and my goal is to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel seen, safe, and understood as they navigate life’s challenges.

I’m currently completing my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Lehigh University and offer counseling appointments both in person and virtually. I work with adolescents (16+) and adults across a wide range of mental health needs and life experiences, including anxiety, trauma, ADHD, parenting concerns, postpartum stress and depression, identity shifts, major life transitions, and more.

My approach is relational and collaborative. I use evidence-based tools (such as CBT) alongside self-compassion and mindfulness to help clients better understand themselves and move forward with greater clarity and care. I aim to help clients make sense of their experiences, build on their strengths, and find practical, compassionate ways forward. Above all, I strive to offer a space where clients feel seen.

I am committed to creating a space where LGBTQ+ clients feel safe, respected, and supported.

Before transitioning into counseling, I spent nearly a decade working as a genetic counselor in cancer, prenatal, and pediatric settings. In that role, I supported individuals and families through complex and emotionally heavy health decisions, often sitting with people in moments of grief, fear, guilt, and uncertainty. While I no longer coordinate or interpret genetic testing, this background allows me to thoughtfully support clients coping with medical stress, fertility journeys, family history concerns, and complex decision-making.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy dancing in my kitchen, hosting friends and family (I make a pretty great balloon arch), learning to bird-watch and knit, finding hikes with beautiful views, and discovering fun ways to move my body. I value connection, creativity, and bringing warmth into everyday life.
