Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, I’m Dinnette!

I am a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).  I hold both a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology, and Masters of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Kutztown University.

I do individual, couple’s, and family counseling, both in-person and online, and enjoy working with clients from a diverse group of ages, backgrounds, and lived experiences.  I am bilingual and offer counseling in both English and Spanish.  If you are looking for Spanish-speaking therapy, I would be glad to chat about your needs. I am LGBT-affirming and sex-positive.  I am passionate about offering access to care across different communities.

My therapy approach is affirming, person-centered, and I greatly enjoy getting to know you as an individual as well as understanding you in the various contexts you present in on a regular basis (in a relationship, as a family member, as a parent or child, at work, in the community, etc).  My therapeutic orientations are client-centered and feminist/empowering, and I am trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Reality Therapy.

I’m a Lehigh Valley local, and am passionate about being involved in the community and giving back.  I have run workshops on women’s empowerment, self-care, trauma, work-life balance, and have enjoyed working to support refugees transitioning into the US.  I am a founding sister of Mu Sigma Upsilon multicultural sorority Inc at Kutztown University Genesis Chapter.  I enjoy creating and nourishing community and have been described as bubbly, chatty, and empathetic.

I am spiritual, a mother, and a Puerto Rican Ecuadorian American.  I was raised in a blended family being the youngest of 8 (!) children.  These lived experiences have shaped me and aided in my desire to understand and care deeply about family dynamics when I am working with couples, families, youth, and those from diverse backgrounds.

In my time outside of work, I enjoy supporting my boys in their recent endeavors with sports, spending time with close friends and family, seeing live music and jamming out, and drinking a nice cup of tea.  I greatly enjoy the outdoors and strongly believe in the healing aspects of nature and mindfulness.

I offer individual therapy, couple’s therapy, and family therapy to folks in Pennsylvania.

I work both virtually and in-person depending on scheduling and your needs.  I am not in-network with insurances and operate on a cash-fee model.  I can provide you a receipt for our meetings which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
