Carly

Counseling Intern

Hello! 🙂

I’m a New York/Long Island transplant who has called the Lehigh Valley home since 2011. My life has always revolved around music, which has directly impacted my love for connecting with people and creating spaces where they feel seen and understood. As an artist, I have spent years holding space for a diverse range of individuals, and I have come to appreciate how music can express what words alone often cannot. Its ability to promote deep understanding and healing is what inspired my journey into mental health counseling.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music from Fordham University and am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Kutztown University. Over the past 15 years, I’ve toured internationally with my band, composed instrumental music for film and TV, and advocated for inclusivity and diversity in the music industry. These experiences have given me insight into the challenges and rewards of living a creative life, as well as the mental health struggles that can accompany it.

When I sought therapy for my own anxiety, I struggled to find someone who truly understood the isolating and unpredictable life of a musician. But once I found the right therapist, it changed my life, giving me the tools to manage my mental health and embrace personal growth. That experience inspires my passion for helping others—especially creatives, young adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and anyone navigating significant life transitions.

As a counselor, my approach is person-centered, affirming, and rooted in humanistic values. I also incorporate multicultural and feminist counseling principles, which focus on equity, empowerment, and honoring your unique story. Whether you’re facing creative blocks, exploring your identity, or seeking balance in your life, I’m here to help you build resilience, self-awareness, and self-compassion in a safe and supportive space.

In my free time, you’ll find me cuddling my corgi, Biff, or indulging in guilty-pleasure TV like Jersey Shore and Love Island. I’m also a TikTok creator specializing in wedding entrance music, and I love performing in my indie/punk band with my husband. Together, we enjoy hiking, playing shows, going to concerts, and eating great local food.

Starting therapy can feel scary, but it’s a brave and life-changing decision. I’d be thrilled to support you on your journey!
